Nurse Navigator Joins Lung Nodule Clinic at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital

JACKSON -  West Tennessee Healthcare is pleased to announce Anne Washburn, RN, BSN as its Nurse Navigator in the Lung Nodule Clinic at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

The newly established Lung Nodule Clinic is the only comprehensive lung nodule program in the region. A lung, or pulmonary nodule, is a small round or oval shaped growth on the lung.  The goal of the lung nodule clinic is to provide early diagnosis of lung nodules followed by expert care and treatment for patients.

Herb Owrey, Director of Respiratory Care at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital says the nurse navigator plays a key role in the clinic. As the Lung Nodule Nurse Navigator, Anne will work directly with patients, guiding their care from the initial appointment through continuing observation and treatment.

In addition to the nurse navigator, the Lung Nodule Clinic will be staffed by pulmonary specialists, pulmonary medicine physicians, cardiothoracic surgeons and radiologists.

Anne Washburn is a graduate of Union University’s nursing school.

Washburn assumed her new role as Nurse Navigator in the Lung Nodule Clinic at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital on August 18.
