HMC Wound Care Services recognized as a Center of Excellence

SAVANNAH – Hardin Medical Center physicians, leaders, and clinicians, along with Healogics representatives, gathered to celebrate the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award, which was presented to HMC Wound Care Services.  For the third consecutive year, HMC Wound Care Services achieved high quality metrics.  The center ended 2014 by healing 99 percent of their patients with median days to heal of 24 and an outlier rate of 17 percent. The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics, Inc., the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. The award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.

HMC Wound Care Services offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.  Advanced treatments included hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
