Spire Rehabilitation Hospital Holds Community Grand Opening Celebration

JACKSON - A grand opening celebration for Spire Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with HealthSouth, was held the evening of June 14. Attendees included guests from West Tennessee Healthcare, Birmingham-based HealthSouth Corporation, elected officials and local community members. The event included a ribbon cutting ceremony held in conjunction with the Jackson Chamber as well as tours of the new facility. A brief program preceded the ribbon cutting and included remarks provided by Julie Taylor, CEO of Spire Rehabilitation Hospital; James Ross, president and CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare; Mayor Jerry Gist, City of Jackson; Mayor Jimmy Harris, Madison County; and Mark Tarr, president and CEO of HealthSouth Corporation. Frank McMeen, president of the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation gave the invocation.

The new, freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital includes 48 all-private patient rooms featuring one isolation room, four bariatric rooms and 10 rooms equipped for patients needing dialysis treatments during their stay. Also included in the 57,066-square-foot hospital, is a spacious therapy gym, outdoor courtyard, dining and dayroom areas. Spire Rehabilitation Hospital will provide the residents of Madison County and the surrounding areas with access to specialized rehabilitation programs and advanced technology.

The hospital serves patients overcoming a variety of debilitating illnesses and injuries including stroke and other neurological disorders, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations, hip fractures and complex orthopedic conditions.
