You are holding the first edition of the West Tennessee Medical News. It is part of a family of 11 Medical Newspapers ranging across the Southeast in places like Memphis, Nashville, East Tennessee, Tampa, Orlando, Charlotte, Birmingham, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas.

This paper, like the others, is a monthly publication focusing on healthcare news in our region. Healthcare in West Tennessee is the economic engine that creates jobs and builds communities, and is the ace card that attracts other industries to our area. We have some of the finest physicians in America practicing in our midst, and we want to shine a light on their abilities. Hospitals are expanding and offering new services, all worthy of notice. Healthcare is perhaps the largest employer in West Tennessee, affecting many families. This publication celebrates and reports on the impact of the healthcare industry in our region.

I have spent more than 20 years in the healthcare business in rural West Tennessee managing two physician organizations: the West Tennessee Physicians’ Alliance in Jackson and the West Tennessee Primary Care IPA scattered throughout the rural counties of the region.

We want your news. It is a partnership. Please send me your comments, ideas and news. Our intent is to make this paper an important tool for you with information that is important to you.

Also, any business (doing business) that wants to do business in the healthcare field should consider advertising in this paper. It is mailed to physicians in West TN as well as hospital executives and medical clinic administrators. Please contact us for a subscription so you won’t miss an issue.
